Moreland City Council’s Social Support Groups
Our Social Support Groups are a great way for older people to have fun and socialise with others. We plan activities for older people that:
- take place on weekdays
- include lunch
- include transport to and from the venue (if needed)
How to attend a Social Support Group
To visit a Social Support Group, you first need to make a referral.
The way to make a referral depends on your age and whether you are an existing client of a Moreland Aged and Disability Service.
This referral can be made by you or you can give a relative, friend or doctor permission to make the referral for you. Find out more about the referral process here.

Senior Citizens groups
In Moreland, there are over 70 senior citizens groups. Seniors groups are for older people from all different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The groups meet at different venues around Moreland, and provide an opportunity for older people in the community to get together for activities and socialising.

Our Place Moreland
Our Place Moreland is a new program of free activities for older people in your local neighbourhood.
We have been piloting this program throughout the first half of 2021, with the aim of expanding across Moreland later in 2021.
We are currently evaluating the program to consider future programs.
