Speak Out | Spoken Word

Peace and the Pursuit of Happiness

In conjunction with the 2018 Moreland Summer Show | Noel Counihan Commemorative Art Award exhibition the Counihan Gallery In Brunswick is pleased to present Speak Out Spoken Word: Peace and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Join us as writers, poets, spoken word artists, rappers, singers and rabble-rousers respond to the theme.

The event's feature performer is Sista Zai Zanda. Sista Zai Zanda is a storyteller, educator, DJ and curator. Her latest social project is The Pan Afrikan Poets Cafe, the home of new, cutting edge and classic African literature. She curates parties that celebrate Africa’s rich literary legacy and diverse storytelling traditions while showing love and respect for First Nations.

This free event will take place on the speaker’s plinth just outside the gallery on Sydney Rd.
