Coburg High School Pop-up Exhibition

The Counihan Gallery in Brunswick presents an exhibition in partnership with Coburg High School

In partnership with Coburg High School, the Counihan Gallery In Brunswick is pleased to present a pop-up student exhibition at Coburg Court House exploring the theme of the 2018 Moreland Summer Show: Peace the the Pursuit of Happiness.

This exhibition showcases the work of Year 10 students and offers them an opportunity to display their work publicly.

Join us at the Coburg Court House to celebrate the student's achievements.

About the exhibition

Throughout 2018, Coburg High School year 10 Art Students have been exploring the history of protest art and activism, beginning a studio process that responds to the 2018 Moreland Summer Show theme Peace and the Pursuit of Happiness.

This pilot program gave students the opportunity to visit local artists from 23A Studios in Brunswick who are working on their individual art practices.

Students then underwent a studio process of generating artwork in response to the theme and were guided through a history of art that aims to incite social change. They analysed key works from art history as well as researching their own interests within the theme to create a resolved artwork for public exhibition.
