This exhibition highlights the possibilities of blending fibre arts with biology and engineering.
Proximity highlights the possibilities of blending fibre arts with biology and engineering and depicts the opportunities and challenges of a cyber-physical future. The multi-disciplinary installation utilises emerging technologies such as 3D printing, animation, interactive sculpture and sound to demonstrate the interdependence of biological, social, economic and political systems.
By unpacking the fragile suspension between sustainability and collapse – a felt experience of the global ecological and political crisis – the work explores these contrasting states of being through movement, materiality and digital surrealism.
Proximity is a solo show by Mikaela Stafford presented in association with CLIMARTE: Arts for a safe climate.
