Melbourne Fringe Microgrants
MORELAND CITY COUNCIL MICROGRANTS
We are excited to offer a number of microgrants to cover registration fees for selected Melbourne Fringe artists living or presenting their 2020 Melbourne Fringe Festival show in the Moreland Local Government Area.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
The opportunity is open to any independent (i.e. not recurrently funded) artist, group, collective or company working in any creative industries, including individual artists or curators, teams of artists and small companies.
We are offering microgrants to cover the cost of the 2020 Melbourne Fringe Festival registration fees for selected Fringe artists living or presenting their Fringe show in the Moreland Local Government Area.
Works that are both by Moreland-based artists and that are to be presented in Moreland will be considered; with a preference for works that fulfil both criteria.
ABOUT MELBOURNE FRINGE
Through arts participation, Melbourne Fringe sparks artistic, cultural and personal discovery for Melbourne and its citizens.
We celebrate cultural democracy: the idea of art for everyone and our work explores the intersection between art and citizenship – the right for anyone to contribute to the cultural life of their city as creators and producers of artworks. We promote alternative viewpoints and celebrate those at the margins: the young, the queer, the disabled, the culturally diverse, the bravest artists exploring the boldest ideas.
By finding ideas at the edge of our culture and drawing them into a central focus, our work explores the peripheral, the new and the not-yet-widely understood aspects of cultural expression.
Moreland City Council Microgrants is a part of Melbourne Fringe's Money For Art Program. You can APPLY HERE.
