Support from your Maternal and Child Health Nurse
Moreland Maternal and Child Health Service offers free support and information to parents about breastfeeding and formula feeding.
After the birth of your baby, a Maternal and Child Health Nurse will visit your home. This is an opportunity for the nurse to help you with breastfeeding.
All Maternal and Child Health Nurses have experience in providing advice and support with breast and formula feeding. Some of our nurses have also completed International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) training.
If you need further assistance after your home visit, you can
- phone your nurse,
- make an appointment with your Maternal and Child Health nurse or
- attend a breastfeeding clinic.
Every Monday, 9am - 3:30pm (From 1 February 2021)
Maternal and Child Health Centre, Bain Reserve, Merlynston
Every Wednesday, 9 am - 3.30 pm
Maternal and Child Health Centre, 1 Wardens Walk, Coburg
These sessions offer more time to educate you and provide you with information and assistance in a small group setting.
No appointment is necessary.
The nurse or lactation consultant can provide support and information with your immediate issues and then help you develop a plan of action.
Moreland Maternal and Child Health Service welcomes your feedback about our services. Call the coordinator on 9240 2212.
