Florence Street, Brunswick - Pop up park

Community consultation

To understand the level of community support for a permanent park in Florence Street, Council under took community consultation in October 2018. The findings of the community consultation and officer recommendations were presented to Councillors at the 12 December Council Meeting.

Council acknowledges the active participation from the community in the engagement process, and thanks the participants for their contribution and positive interest shown in this project.

Based on community feedback, Council has resolved to investigate the feasibility of a permanent park in Florence Street following commencement of the development at 8 Florence Street, Brunswick.

Project background

From mid-2018, a pop-up park has been located on Florence Street in Brunswick. This little ‘park’ re-purposes part of the street into a space for community use.

This space was created as a temporary space in which to trial the idea of a park in this location. The park maintains vehicular access by utilising the car park spaces on either side of Florence Street and uses some of the pieces from Council's Parklet Program.
