Raeburn Reserve, Pascoe Vale - park upgrade
The playground at Raeburn Reserve will be upgraded in 2020 as Council continues to implement the Moreland Play Strategy 2016-20 (PDF 2Mb). The proposal includes a new outdoor fitness area approximately 50m to the north of the playground and just south of the existing oval.
Draft concept plan
A draft plan (PDF 3Mb)has been prepared to show a fresh new playspace that incorporates a blend of contemporary play equipment (including a flying fox!), garden beds and recycled materials through the use of locally sourced bluestone pitchers, rocks and logs for balancing, standing and sitting. Our in-house construction team will also create some playful sculptural creatures using some of these natural and recycled materials!
A BBQ, drinking fountain and picnic facilities will be provided along with a 'hang-out' space to relax in with friends under the shade. New plantings of both exotic and native species, will provide further summer shade and winter sun into this play space as well as seasonal colour.
A new outdoor fitness area will be installed north of the playground with at least 18 different exercise opportunities catered for within the equipment range.
Residents and the wider community are invited to submit feedback on the proposals shown in the draft concept plan (PDF 3Mb). Please contact Wendy Skala, Landscape Architect, at Moreland City Council to provide comment or ask for more information or email Council Open Space.
Email email@example.com or telephone 8311 4392. Please provide feedback by Wednesday 18th December, 2019.
The concept plan will be revised subject to feedback received. Construction will commence early 2020 with completed expected during March 2020.
