Project background

Funding has been allocated in the 2017-18 Council budget to continue implementation of the Gowanbrae Open Space Development and Management Plan (PDF 3Mb) which was endorsed by Council in May 2014.

Works in 2017-18 focus on improvements to the Elms Court Reserve parklands, as shown in the Elms Court Reserve Draft Concept Plan (PDF 6Mb)

Proposed works include:

  • Relocation and expansion of the existing play space and barbecue area
  • Outdoor fitness equipment
  • Cricket training nets
  • AFL training goals
  • Walking paths
  • Additional vegetation and tree planting for shade
  • Car parking

Funding has also been allocated to begin developing a community garden on Council land at 156 Gowanbrae Drive. Further consultation and plans will be developed for the community garden project.

All elements shown on the concept plan are subject to feedback from the community and final budget.

Feedback on the Elms Court Reserve Draft Concept Plan closed on 30 September 2017.

The plans have been revised, considering feedback from the community.

It is planned that works will commence on site in November 2017 and be completed before May 2018.
