Translated COVID-19 Service Announcements

The Victorian Government has announced that from 11.59pm on Wednesday 8 July, Metropolitan Melbourne will be placed on Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions for 6 weeks.
This means that there are only 4 reasons you should be leaving your home, including:
- To work or study (if you can't from home)
- Shopping for food or essential items
- For exercise (outdoor exercise only, with one other person or member of your household)
- To provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment
This also means that Council will be temporarily closing a number of our services and facilities.
Our priority is the health and safety of our community and staff, and with this in mind we continue to make decisions that may impact the way we deliver our services, events and programs.

Our Customer Service Centres are temporarily closed.
We're still available to provide you with information and services:
- Call us on 9240 1111 to talk with our Customer Service Team.
- View our online services including bins and collections, new pet registrations, planning enquiries and more.
You can access urban planning advice via phone (03) 9240 1111 or viewing advertised plans online.
If you have sharps, needles or syringes that you would normally bring to our Customer Service Centres - you can now take them to Merri Health located at 93 Bell Street Coburg.

All of our libraries will be closed from Wednesday 8 July at 5pm until further notice. Items have been renewed until 31 August and library fines will be suspended during the closure. All library programs, events and room bookings have been cancelled.

The ‘Books to Your Door’ contactless home delivery service continues to run with options to have your reserved items or a selection of 10 items delivered to you. Find out more and register for the service.
Brunswick Baths will re-close effective close of business Wednesday 8 July 2020 as per the State Government's latest announcement on the return of Stage 3 restrictions for metropolitan Melbourne.
Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre, Coburg Leisure and Fawkner Leisure Centre will remain closed.
Please note Oak Park, Coburg Olympic and Pascoe Vale outdoor pools are closed for the entire winter period and re-opening will be based on State Government restrictions.

Playgrounds, skate parks, outdoor gym equipment and other areas with outdoor recreation equipment are closed.
The following sporting codes can still operate in Moreland:
- Tennis — adhering to Tennis Victoria guidelines
- Golf — adhering to Golf Victoria’s guidelines
- Personal training outdoors can occur but with a limit of two participants plus the instructor
All other sporting codes, clubs and associations will need to cease operations from their sporting facility and remain closed to their members and the public until further notice. This includes outdoor sport facilities and indoor sports centres such as gyms, training facilities and pools. As per the State Government advice, if you live in an impacted area you cannot participate in community sport elsewhere.
Oxygen Youth Space is currently closed.
The health and safety of our residents and staff is foremost in our service delivery during COVID-19. As such, we have made changes to the way we deliver some of our services and have also had to cancel some services. Essential support services continue to be provided with additional health and hygiene practices and measures put in place.
Planned Activity Groups/Social Support Groups -Groups are cancelled until further notice, however we are working with residents to provide alternative social connection opportunities and activities that can be done at home.
Senior Citizen groups — Cancelled until further notice. We are working with groups on options for staying connected while staying at home.
Moreland Age-Friendly Ambassadors Program — on hold at the current time. We are working on other Living and Ageing Well strategies to support older people during COVID-19.
Delivered meals program — Additional Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) funding has been provided to provide additional meals to the community during COVID-19.
Home Support services, Personal Support, Respite Support, Delivered Meals and Community Transport will continue,with some adjustments to services.
Assessment Services – The Moreland Regional Assessment Service continues to conduct assessment on behalf of My Aged Care – if you would like an assessment for services and are over 65 years or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander over 50 years contact 1800 200 422, or if you are under 65 years contact our Assessment Service on 9240 2338 to discuss your eligibility for an Assessment.

The program is currently operating however enrolment has closed due to reaching capacity, for more information visit our Primary School Holiday Program page. The last day of School Holiday Program is Friday 10 July 2020.
Our Family Day Care service is still operating. If you require child care or are interested in becoming a home based educator call 9240 2300.
All Council-led playgroups will be closed until further notice.
All our Maternal and Child Health centres are open and continue to provide telehealth and short face-to-face consultations for 0 to 4-month-old babies and priority groups throughout July.
We will continue with telehealth for 8 month to 3.5 year olds for the month of July.
New Parent groups are going back online for July.

Our Council-run immunisation services are still running and appointments must be made before you can attend. All sessions are at Coburg Town Hall, 90 Bell St, Coburg with plenty of parking on Urquhart Street.

As of 15 June 2020, Moreland went back to providing face-to-face breastfeeding support every Wednesday to families via an appointment system at our Coburg Maternal and Child Health Centre.
You can book your one on one appointment with our team via our booking line on 9240 1111 and by selecting option 2. Where possible, we request for only the mother and child to attend the appointment.
All appointments need to be made via the booking line as we are not taking drop-ins at the moment due to COVID-19.
We will also be setting a breastfeeding support service at Merlynston mid-July. Further details on this service will be provided soon.

All face-to-face Citizenship Ceremonies have been postponed. Online Citizenship Ceremonies are now being conducted by Moreland, and arranged by the Department of Home Affairs.

Our waste and bin collection and recycling services are still business as normal. Learn more about waste collection services.
All council-managed halls, Senior Citizen Centres and meeting rooms have been temporarily closed.
Most Council-run community meetings and information sessions have been cancelled or alternatively consultation is being conducted in a different way.
Advice about specific meetings and sessions will be provided to relevant participants.
All other services will run as normal, unless otherwise advised.
