Proposed Road Discontinuance between 112 Barkly Street & 85-89 Brunswick Road, Brunswick East

Moreland City Council proposes to discontinue the road enclosed within 112 Barkly Street & 85-89 Brunswick Road, Brunswick East as shown highlighted in blue on the map below. 

If discontinued, Council proposes to sell the land from the road to the owner of 112 Barkly Street & 85-89 Brunswick Road, Brunswick East by private treaty in accordance with its Rights of Way Associated Policies 2011 (DOC 116Kb) and Rights of Way Strategy (DOC 3Mb).

Make a submission

Any person wishing to make a submission on the proposal must do so in writing by no later than 5.00pm Tuesday 31 March 2020.

Submissions must be clearly marked quoting reference 'ROW/2/2019'. 

Submissions can be made:

All submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Act. 

A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at the Hearing of Submissions Committee to be held at a date and time to be determined by Council in 2020, at Moreland Civic Centre, 90 Bell Street, Coburg.

Submissions form part of the public record of the meeting that Council will consider whether to proceed with the sale and will be added to the Council report which is published on Council’s website.

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to discontinue and sell the road, part of the road, or not to discontinue the road.
