Moreland City Council respects the privacy of everyone that visits our website and is committed to complying with the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) outlined in the Information Privacy Act 2000. This statement outlines the privacy policy and practices of Moreland City Council in relation to visitors to Council’s website. It does not apply to linked websites, but we do not link knowingly to sites that are privacy-invasive. We do, however, use cookies on the Business Directory site on the Update your Entry page for the purposes of retaining the username for an easier and quicker login process the next time you use this function. The cookie does not record your login password. A cookie is a block of data that is shared between a web server and a user's browser. This information will only be used to update and improve our website. To the extent that this data could make you identifiable, Council will not attempt to identify individuals from the records the server automatically generates unless that is necessary to investigate a breach of law or regulation. Some web pages on the Moreland Council website contain electronic images known as web beacons, which are also called single-pixel gifs. Web beacons allow us to count users who have visited those pages. Moreland City Council’s website includes an online community database and directory (Moreland Community Portal) to assist people who live, work or study in the City of Moreland to access community based organisations and groups. Moreland City Council collects contact details and other information about community groups and organisations via mail, fax, phone, email and an online form. This information is only made available through the online database and directory where permission has been explicitly granted by the organisation or group. Contact details that are requested to be kept confidential are not made available on the online directory or database. directory (Moreland Business Directory)
to assist people to access businesses in Moreland. The Business Directory uses a cookie to retain information about a registered business' username when logging in to the directory to update your entry. The cookie does not record the login password.
