Remove a street tree
Council usually removes a street tree if it is dead, diseased or considered dangerous. Council does not consider leaves dropping or nesting birds as enough reason to remove a tree.
Street tree removals to install a driveway
A street tree removed to build a driveway is considered part of a Council Road Opening Permit application. A Council arborist assesses the tree and location of the new driveway.
If the tree has to be removed, the Road Opening Permit fee will cover the full cost of the removal and the replacement with a new tree.
Report a fallen or diseased street tree
Contact Council to remove a street tree that:
- fell over in a storm or strong winds
- is dead, or
- looks diseased and sick.
