New and better parks

Council looks after 430 parks and reserves in Moreland, including 52 sportsgrounds.

Improving parks

Council improves how parks look and the facilities they have.

In 2007, Council installed or built:

  • two new climbing nets
  • three new playgrounds
  • three sets of barbecues
  • two half-basketball courts, and
  • new seats and fences

at a number of parks.

New and improved parks in Moreland

In 2008, Council will do for new development and upgrade works such as landscaping, playground upgrades, fencing, seats and other park furniture in several parks.

Existing parks listed for development and upgrades

  • Ansellem Grove, Glenroy
  • Harmony Park, Coburg – shade shelter construction, and 
  • Mott Reserve, Glenroy. 

Open Space Strategy: schedule for park improvements

Council’s Open Space Strategy (DOC 3Mb) guides the improvement and upgrade of parks across Moreland. It sets out the priorities for park development and the expected time it will take to complete these improvements.
