Residential parking permits
Apply for a residential parking permit if you live in a street with parking restrictions, for example, two hour parking.
A permit is valid from 1 July to 30 June. You need to renew your residential parking permit each year.
Where you can park
With a residential parking permit you can park anywhere in the street except for prohibited areas such as No Standing and Loading Zones.
A permit does not guarantee there will be parking in the street.
Where to display your permit
Put your residential parking permits in the lower left hand of your car's windscreen.
Put a visitor's permit facing up on the dashboard of the visitor's vehicle. A visitor's permit is the responsiblity of the residential parking permit holder.
Number of permits per household
Council issues up to two residential parking permits and one visitor parking permit per household.
You cannot transfer a permits to another person, vehicle or street. The permit is only legal while you are a permanent resident at the address on the application form.
Permit fee
A residential parking permit is $15 per permit and a visitor parking permit is $30 per permit.
Apply for a residential parking permit
- Download, print and fill in the Residential Parking Permit Application Form (DOC 89Kb).
- Post or bring the form, a copy of current Victorian motor car registration proof of your address in Moreland, and money for the permit fee to a Council Citizen's Service Centre.
- Council Citizen's Service Centres also have permit application and renewal forms.
Renew a residential parking permit
- Council sends you a renewal notice in the mail.
- Once you pay the permit fee, your residential parking permit is automatically renewed. You can renew a residential parking permit online or pay your renewal by post, phone or in person.
