Join the library
Anyone can join the library in Moreland. It's free.
You do not have to live in Moreland and you can join at a library or online.
When you join you get a library membership card.
Your card has your name, an ID number and a barcode.
Bring your card to a library in Moreland to borrow items and to renew or reserve them. Use your card online to reserve or renew items.
Why join the library?
You can borrow books, magazines, CDs and DVDs and use the computers at any library in Moreland. You can’t borrow items until you have your library membership card.
How to join at a library in Moreland
- Go to a library in Moreland. Bring something with your address on it, for example a driver's licence, health care card, rates notice or a recent bill.
- Go to the Information Desk.
- Ask to join and fill out a library membership form (DOC 223Kb) (for adult members. Junior membership forms are below) .
- The librarian will give you a membership card. You can now borrow books, CDs, DVDs and magazines.
If you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must sign the library membership form.
If you do not have proof of your current address, your membership card will be posted to you.
Items cannot be borrowed until the card is received.
How to join online
- You must be 18 or over to join online.
- Go to Moreland City Libraries' online catalogue
- Click 'Join Online'
- When you have read and accepted the Conditions of Membership, click 'Accept'
- Fill in the online registration form and click 'Submit'
- Your registration will be confirmed with a temporary borrower number.
- Take your temporary number and proof of your current address to a Moreland library to complete your registration.
- The librarian will give you a membership card. You can now borrow from the library.
Organisations can join the library too
Organisations in Moreland may have an institutional membership.
Lost or stolen library card
Tell the library immediately if you lose your card or someone steals it. The library will cancel your card. To replace a card, you will need to show identification with your current address and pay $3.00 for a new card. You are still responsible for all the items borrowed on your lost card.
