Immunisation at school

Council's immunisation team conducts three immunisation sessions at all secondary schools in Moreland each year.

The school distributes the immunisation consent cards.  Usually students are asked to take the consent cards home for parents/guardian's consent and return them to school when signed.

If a student is absent for school vaccination, a letter will be sent to their home address.

The recommended vaccines are as follows:

Year 7 Students

Hepatitis B

Unvaccinated students require 2 doses of vaccine at least 4 months apart (if previously vaccinated with 3 doses no further Hepatitis B is required).

Chickenpox (Varicella)

Students require 1 dose only.  Vaccine not required if previously vaccinated or have had the chickenpox disease.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV)

Female students only require 3 doses at least 0 - 1 - 3 months apart.

Year 10 Students

Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis (whooping cough) combined (Boostrix)

All students - 1 dose only.
