Newlands Community House

An hour of rhymes, songs, bonding and bopping for LGBTQI parents and their babies and/or toddlers. Followed by an hour of playgroup to share the wonders and challenges of queer parenting.

The Coburg Community Houses are friendly, welcoming Community Houses where you can make new friends, gain new skills, share ideas and experiences. Community Houses offer social, recreational, educational, and support programs for people of all of the community!

Newlands Community House is located at 20 Murray Road, Coburg North.

The Artist and Community Exchange Program

An opportunity for artists to utilise the space at the Coburg Community Houses in exchange for offering the community access to their art and artistic process through a one off workshop, exhibition, rehearsal, performance or something similar.

The houses are available at only $10 per day at various times during the year.

Community Kindness Program

Would you like to perform an act of kindness? Some people in our community need your support to join in. Donate the cost of a program and we will find someone to give it to. Look at the program and choose an activity you would like to support.

Facilitators

We are looking for local facilitators and tutors for future programs.

Please send your expression of interest with your resume and a summary of your program idea to email East Coburg Community House.

Volunteers

If you have skills or hobbies and the time to volunteer your knowledge with other local like minded people we would love to hear from you. We are seeking some volunteers with experience in: 

  • Microsoft Office to assist with office duties
  • People with computer and tech skills to assist with inter-generational
  • learning on social media, smart phone use and basic computer skills

Bring your under 5's to this casual session. Each week art and craft activities will be available for you to do with your child. Tea and coffee available for adults.

Yoga

This class is ideal for beginners or those who have not done yoga for a long time. Stretch and strengthen your body and mind through Vinyassa style yoga.

We share recipes, cook and then eat! We spend less than $10 and you are welcome to bring items from your garden and home.

4 – 5 pm

Learn the basics of computer programming using Scratch - a visual programming tool, to build your own computer games and animations. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 8 places available.

Through play and theatre kids will use their imagination to create a performance. Facilitated by a recognised performance artist.

A supportive Hatha Yoga Class to increase mobility and help soothe anxiety issues for people who are elderly, have a disability, chronic pain or mental health issues.

Amaze NDIS Worshops
