Sustainable Moreland Advisory Group
The Sustainable Moreland Advisory Group shares information, discusses issues, promotes community awareness and advises Council on its strategies, policies and programs on sustainability specifically related to climate change, waste, water and water sensitive urban design, sustainable buildings and open space.
Role
The Group aims to:
- share information on sustainability issues relevant to the Moreland community
- advise and comment on frameworks and priorities for the implementation of Council's sustainable development strategies and programs
- contribute to scheduled reviews of existing Council policies and strategies
- share information and advice Council on Council and community activities about sustainable development, and identify opportunities for ongoing sustainable development programs and projects
- promote community awareness and support for opportunities and actions needed to achieve sustainable development in the Moreland community
- help Council to engage the local community, organisations and networks in sustainable development projects and initiatives, and
- advise Council on the processes, structures and programs that should happen to further sustainable development in the community.

- a Councillor
- Council staff
- representatives of local environment organisations, and
- residents of the Moreland community
Meetings
This committee meets every three months.
