Student Placements
Moreland Youth Services provides placement opportunities for secondary and tertiary students seeking to complete their field placements. Students have the opportunity to actively participate in a range of programs and projects that offer practical and valuable experiences in the youth sector.

Placement length
Placements range from 2 weeks for secondary school placements to 220 hours for tertiary requirements.
Placement confirmation
Students will be notified of their placement application within 2 weeks of your request.
Supervision
Moreland Youth Services assumes responsibility for the supervision of all students.
Placement location
Students will be based at the Brunswick Town Hall, 233 Sydney Road, Brunswick.
Placement case studies
- Victoria University of Technology Bachelor of Youth Work 3rd Year student research project examining the barriers to Moreland's young people accessing recreational and social opportunities. The project will work with local stakeholder's in identifying the barriers to participation and make recommendations as to how to increase young people's involvement in local recreational activities.
- RMIT Youth Work 3rd Year student assisting in developing and planning a careers program for Box Forest secondary Year 9 students.
- Brunswick Secondary College Year 10 student assisting with administration duties and involvement in after school personal development programs.
Other information
Placements preferences are to tertiary students whom reside in Moreland and are presently studying:
- youth affairs or youth work
- community development, and
- welfare studies.
A student's educational institution must provide indemnity cover for the duration of the placement.
