FReeZA

The Moreland FReeZA committee is a group of local young people aged 12 - 25 that plan and organise live music events for other young people in Moreland.

The committee meet weekly to decide what gigs and other music events they'll run throughout the year. FReeZA poster for event 26 May

What FReeZA does

Moreland FReeZA is a great way for young people from the Moreland area to develop event management skills, with support from the youth services team.

Some of the things you might do as part of FreeZA include:

  • choosing and contacting performers
  • designing promotional material like flyers or social networking pages
  • managing budgets
  • organising sound engineers and other suppliers
  • learning about risk management procedures
  • stage management, and
  • running the front of house (ie. selling tickets, giving out programs).

You’ll also be running the event on the day, and this might include managing the performers, suppliers, crew and solving any problems that come up.

Along with the annual Push Start Battle of the Bands, there are other opportunities for Moreland bands to perform at FReeZA events.

Contact us if you are interested in playing at a FReeZA event (details below).
