Hume Moreland Volunteer Coordinators’ Network
This network supports managers, coordinators and workers with volunteers and promotes volunteering in Moreland and Hume.
Membership is free and open to anyone who works with volunteers in Moreland and Hume. To find out more, contact Council's Community Strengthening Officer on 9240 1111.
Moreland Volunteer Training
The Moreland Volunteer Training is a number of short courses to enhance the skills of volunteers and community groups in Moreland. To recognise and support the contribution volunteers and community groups make to the wellbeing of the Moreland community, Council funds the Moreland Volunteer Training. Courses are offered at low cost.
Affordable training
The Moreland Volunteer Training provides highly subsidised training for:
- committee members of community groups
- local volunteers, and
- staff of clubs, community groups and non for profit organisations.
The training courses and workshops are run by Neighbourhood Houses in Moreland. The training suits different levels of competence and interest.
Popular training amongst volunteers, clubs and community groups include:
- general administration skills
- communication skills
- occupational health and safety, and
- Committees of Management training courses.
Accredited training
There is some accredited training such as:
- safe food handling
- first aid, and
- computer training.
Programs are flexible and can be tailored to individual groups.
