MetroAccess is funded by the Victorian government’s Department of Human Services. MetroAccess is a new approach for disability services, where the community is the primary focus.
Metro Access partners with local governments in Victoria.
The program started in 2003 and now all local Councils have a MetroAccess or RuralAccess officer.
Recharge Scheme
Council is putting Recharge facilities in the community. A Recharge facility is a place where people who use wheelchairs or scooters can recharge their batteries. Recharge points can be found in Leisure Centres, Libraries, some restaurants and other businesses.
If you own a business that would like to become a Recharge point, or have any other questions about Recharge, contact Lachlan McLeod or Carolyn Hughes on 9240 2469, email metroaccess@moreland.vic.gov.au or visit the Recharge Australia website.
