Brunswick Business Incubator
The Brunswick Business Incubator has been helping entrepreneurs find their feet for almost a decade.
The Incubator, located in former buildings of Brunswick Secondary College on Victoria Street, is a hub for start-up or home-based businesses with dreams of bigger things. Partly funded by Moreland Council, the Incubator offers businesses month-to-month rental terms, use of office and business equipment, meeting spaces and mentor training.
Incubator Manager Anthony O’Brien says business owners at the Incubator are always bouncing ideas off each other and networking.
“Some of our tenants are people who felt isolated running a business at home, or who had difficulty separating work and family.”
Julia Van Der Sommen has operated her pattern and sample-making business, The Sample Room, out of the Incubator for almost three years. “The Incubator is such a great resource and source of support, especially when you are just starting out and putting in the long hours,” said Ms Van Der Sommen, who has recently taken on her third employee.
