Old building plans
Council keeps old building plans, building permit applications and other building-related property information from the past.
Most of this information is from 1994 onwards.
View or get a copy of old property information
You can apply to view or get a copy of old building permit information if you are the property owner or are authorised in writing by the owner.
The Building legislation requires Council to protect the owner’s privacy. Only these people can access this information.
There is a cost to retrieve each file. Please note that this file search fee is not refundable should no information be available, following this search of records. Extra photocopying charges also apply.
Apply for copies of building permit plans or documents
Apply online: use Council's online lodgements
You can logon, apply and pay online for a search of building permit plans or documents.
- Register first as a user on Council's eServices before you can apply online for a copy of building permit plans or documents.
- If you are a registered user apply for copy of building plans or documents online now
Send in an application form
Download and fill in the:
- application for copy of plans or documents by the property owner form (DOC 71Kb) (DOC 27Kb) if you are the current owner, or
- application for copy of plans or documents by person authorised by owner form (DOC 70Kb) (DOC 27Kb) if you are applying on behalf of the owner.
Submit the form with your payment:
- at a Council Citizens Service Centre, or
- by post to Moreland City Council, Locked Bag 10, Moreland 3058.
