Amendment C112: Hope, Lyle, Frederick and Cliff Streets, Brunswick

About the Amendment

Amendment C112 is made at the request of Glossop Town Planning Pty Ltd on behalf of Princes Park Homes Pty Ltd, owners of a site affected by the amendment (95 Hope Street, Brunswick).

Amendment C112 was placed on public exhibition from 6 May - 7 June 2010.

Council considered submissions to Amendment C112 to the Moreland Planning Scheme at its meeting on 9 February 2011.  The report to Council, containing the officer response to submissions, can be found in the agenda for the 9 February Council meeting under minutes and past agendas

Council resolved to split Amendment C112 as a result of submissions into two parts, to allow the amendment to proceed as:

  • C112 (Part 1) as it applies to MILUS precinct 34 (comprising 93-99 and part 101-105 Hope Street) and MILUS precinct 35 (comprising 53-57, 76 Lyle Street and 35 Cliff Street)
  • C1112 (Part 2) as it applies to MILUS precinct 36 (comprising 30-54 Hope Street)

Status

Amendment C112 (Part 1)

The Minister for Planning has approved Amendment C112 (Part 1).  The amendment came into effect when its approval was published in the Government Gazette on 14 July 2011.

The amendment affects the following properties:

  • 93, 95, 97, 99 and part of 101-105 Hope Street Brunswick
  • 53, 55, 57and 76 Lyle Street, Brunswick; and 
  • 35 Cliff Street, Brunswick

The amendment:

  • rezones 93, 95, 97, 99 and part of 101-105 Hope Street, Brunswick from the Industrial 3 Zone to the Mixed Use Zone; 
  • rezones 53, 55, 57 and 76 Lyle Street, Brunswick, and 35 Cliff Street, Brunswick from the Industrial 3 Zone  to the Residential 1 Zone; and  
  • applies the Environmental Audit Overlay to 93, 95, 97, 99 and part of 101-105 Hope Street, Brunswick and 76 Lyle Street, Brunswick.

Amendment C112 (Part 1) is now complete. 

Amendment C112 (Part 2)

An independent panel appointed by the Minister for Planning considered submissions to Amendment C112 (Part 2) in April 2011. Council received the Panel's Report (PDF 879Kb) on 29 April 2011.  Council considered the Panel's report at their meeting 13 July 2011 and resolved to adopt the amendment and submit to the Minsister for Planning for approval.

Part 2 of the amendment proposes to:

  • rezone land at 30-54 (even numbers) Hope Street, Brunswick from and Industrial 3 Zone to a Business 2 Zone
  • rezone land at 2 Frederick Street, Brunswick from and Industrial 3 Zone to a Residential 1 Zone
  • apply the Environmental Audit Overlay to 30, 32, 34, 36, 42, 48, 50 and 54 Hope Street Brunswick 

Consultation

Amendment C112 was placed on public exhibition from 6 May 2010 to 7 June 2010.  Council received eight submissions to the proposed Amendment.  Exhibition documentation can be access from the links below.
