Moreland's public art collection

Council’s public art collection is spread throughout Moreland’s 15 suburbs.

Council commissioned most of this public art, meaning that Council chose artists to create works that suited the location and  reflected local themes.

 

Brunswick Council offices public art A mural inside Brunswick library and handcrafted furniture, printed banners, and a wall and floating sculpture in Brunswick Town Hall Atrium.
Brunswick East public art Artworks made with recycled and reclaimed materials at CERES and a sculptural concrete path along Merri Creek.
Brunswick public art Large-scale replicas of Italian and Greek coins embedded in Sydney Road footpath, a Sydney Road monument to the Brickworks and a stone carving and timber and steel seats at the Mechanics Performing Arts Institute.
Brunswick West public art Sculptural bollards, playground equipment, entrance mosaic, sculptural wall, barbeque area and an art seat at Dunstan Reserve. Entrances, fences and a timber bench at Everrette Street Community Gardens. The Indigenous Koori Garden at Jacobs Reserve.
Coburg public art Sculpted bike racks at Coburg Leisure Centre. Sculptural birds and an acrylic and glass counter in the Citizens Service Centre. Ceiling-mounted rice paper and message sticks in the Council Chamber, and glass sculptures in the north and south entrances.
Coburg North public art A ceramic, mixed media sculpture and a cement sculpture at Coburg Lake Reserve.
Fawkner public art Sculptural concrete spheres at Moomba Park and a steel art seat on Jukes Road.
Gowanbrae public art A carved brick sculpture from materials like bricks, bluestone and sand at Moonee Ponds Creek.
Pascoe Vale public art Sculptural planting with poa grasses and three brick sculptures in Kelvin Thomson Park.
