Getting started
We have developed a guide to help people who organise and run events and festivals in Moreland. It will help you comply with Council regulations and other legislative requirements.
An event or festival is defined as any social activity or gathering. The guide refers to both as an ‘event’.
Getting started
One of the first tasks an event organiser must do is let Council know of the event, especially if it will be held on Council land or property, like a park or other open space.
Council will advise you as to what permits you require and what conditions may apply. If appropriate, Council will issue an Event Permit once all permit requirements have been met by the event organiser.
All events requiring a permit must submit an Event Permit Application at least two months before the event date.
If you aren't sure if you need a permit then go to the Events permit needed page to complete a self assesment of your event and its requirements.
