Events permit needed
Before you start planning your event find out if you require one of Council's Event Permits.
When you need an event permit from Council
You will need an event permit from Council if you need:
- on site vehicle access
- on site infrastructure e.g. marquees, temporary stages
- amusement rides or animal farms
- access to on site power
- access to on site water
- playing of amplified music or sound
- priority access to an area of a park or reserve, or
- closure of street or road.
Complete the Event Permit Application Form (DOC 75Kb) and email or post it to Council.
If you answered no to all of the above, you do not require an event permit, however we ask you to register your event with us to avoid conflicting with other events. Complete the Non-permit Event Registration form (DOC 27Kb) and send to Council by email or post.
If you are unsure then you should contact the Arts and Culture unit and talk to the Cultural Events Officer.
