Arts strategy for Moreland
The Moreland Arts Strategy has been developed with the idea that the arts, in all its forms, contribute to a vital community culture.
The Strategy is divided into key themes that show the direction that the arts will take from 2006–10:
- diversity
- engaging communities and cultural development
- places, spaces and assets
- festivals, events and cultural celebrations, and
- communication and critical debate.
The Strategy outlines Council's commitment to:
- funding for arts in public places a grants program to support emerging groups, activities, artists and projects
- buying works of local artists and works of local significance, and
- integrating arts and cultural expression into all capital works projects, such as facility and open space developments.
