Busking

Busker's violin case filled with moneyBusking is performing in a public place to entertain people. The performer is paid with donations from the public.

You must apply for a permit to busk anywhere in Moreland, there is no fee associated with this permit type.

Why you need a permit to busk

You need a busking permit to:

  • provide proof if asked by Council that you are permitted to busk in a public space
  • limit the number of buskers in one place
  • make sure large groups of buskers have enough space to perform, and
  • make sure the performance is safe for the public.

Get a free busking permit

Write to Council at least three weeks before you want to busk.

Include the days and location you want to busk.

In your application, describe how your busking considers:

  • public safety, and
  • public access - how people and traffic can still move as usual.
