Cole Reserve netball courts

Background

The Victorian Government’s new $9.6 million Inner City Netball Program is building 64 competition compliant netball courts in inner-Melbourne, ensuring nobody is turned away from playing the game they love.

Moreland is benefiting from the program, which will cater for the growing demand for sports like netball by building multi court facilities where they are needed most.

Netball court construction

Cole Reserve is a large popular park for playgroups and active sport alike located on the corner of Cumberland and Kent Roads in Pascoe Vale. Cole Reserve currently caters for AFL football and cricket (turf and synthetic).

Construction of two fully-lit competition compliant netball courts is underway.

Project budget

The Cole Reserve netball court construction is funded by the Victorian Government through the Inner City Netball Program. The budget for these courts is $286,322.

Timelines

Construction of the Cole Reserve netball courts commenced in September 2017, with completion anticipated by the end of December 2017.

The courts have been designed by Court Technology Victoria and constructed by Aste Pty Ltd.
