Public toilets in parks - Bush Reserve, Gavin Park and Jones Park
Moreland Council Public Toilet Strategy (DOC 622Kb) and Appendix D of the Public Toilet Strategy (updated February 2016) (PDF 512Kb) aims to provide safe, accessible, clean and environmentally sustainable public toilets across the municipality. The strategy includes guidance on public toilet locations, opening hours and design principles and maintenance.
As part of the 2015-16 Capital Works Program the following public toilets were completed.
They are fully accessible, unisex and open from dawn to dusk via a solar powered automatic locking system. The roof catchment area provides water to inbuilt storage tanks (1000 litre) to assist with cistern flushing.
Bush Reserve, Coburg
The new park and playground at Bush Reserve has been well received by the community with a strong need for a public toilet facility. The new public toilet in Bush Reserve was opened to the public on 27 May 2016.
Gavin Park/Austin Crescent, Pascoe Vale
The existing public toilets at Gavin Park and Austin Crescent, which are 50 metres apart, were demolished and consolidated into a new facility. The new public toilet in Gavin Park/Austin Crescent was opened to the public on 15 June 2016.
Jones Park, Brunswick East
With the increased usage of Jones Park since the recent installation of a playground and barbecues, the need for toilet facilities became apparent. The new public toilet in Jones Park was opened to the public on 24 May 2016.
