Notice of intention to sell land
Moreland City Council gives public notice pursuant to S189 of the Local Government Act 1989 (The Act) that it intends to sell part of its land at Victory Street Fawkner (known as Evans Reserve) to Darul Ulum College of Victoria and acquire Darul Ulum College of Victoria’s four properties at 21 and 23 Marjory Street and 16 and 18 Victory Street, Fawkner. The land to be swapped is the same size in square metres.
At its meeting on 10 May 2017, Council authorised the commencement of the statutory process to sell the site by private treaty to Darul Ulum College of Victoria.
Council’s land is zoned Public Park and Recreation (PPRZ), Darul Ulum College of Victoria’s land is zoned Neighbourhood Residential (NR1Z).
Prior to settlement of the sites, the Darul Ulum College of Victoria’s houses will be demolished and reinstated into a useable park. The current playground and bike path will also be relocated to a suitable position.
How to make a submission

Written submissions in relation to the proposed sale will be considered in accordance with S223 of The Act.
A person making a submission is entitled to request that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a nominated person, at a meeting of the Council or its Urban Planning Committee on a date, time and place to be determined by Council.
Following the consideration of any submissions, Council will make a decision regarding the sale of the land at a Council meeting to be determined.
