Naming of a feature: Community Centre
Council is building a new community centre at 7 Prospect Street, Pascoe Vale. It is located adjacent to the Pascoe Vale pool complex and within Rogers Reserve (identified on the map below).
The centre will contain a Maternal and Child Health, Early Years Centre and a Neighbourhood House.
Council recently advertised its intention to name the new community centre the ‘Pascoe Vale Community Centre’.
Following a number of submissions received during this process Council is now commencing a new naming process seeking suggestions to name the new centre.
Make a submission
In accordance with Council's Naming Moreland Places Policy (DOC 168Kb), any person is invited to submit suggestions.
A submission should include relevant background information and need to meet the criteria set out in Council’s Naming Moreland Places Policy and the State Government’s Naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities – 2016. This can be viewed on the Victorian State Government website.
Submissions should be made in writing and:
- forwarded to Liz McDonald, Moreland City Council, Locked Bag 10, Moreland 3058
- delivered to the Moreland Civic Centre, 90 Bell Street Coburg, or
- emailed to Council
If you wish to speak in support of your submission, please state this in your letter.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 20 October 2017 at 5 pm.
In accordance with the Office of Geographic Names, Council must publicly advertise the naming proposal with a required date for response within 30 days of the public notice.
