Data is taken mostly from the 2006 Australian Bureau of Statistics Census of Population and Housing, along with other data sources, and summarises social statistics such as population and age, cultural diversity, religion, employment, education, housing, and families.

The Moreland Economic Profile 2008 summarises economic data about Moreland such as industry, employment, construction and property.

Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey Report
The Department of Planning and Community Development conducts the Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey annually. This survey measures community satisfaction with local governments in Victoria.
Council's subscription to this survey includes the collection of data for Moreland Local Government Area (LGA) and reporting with comparisons made of other local governments in our region, as well as state averages. The survey provides valuable benchmarking data.

Community Indicators Survey Report
The Community Indicators Survey is an annual survey of Moreland residents that captures community perceptions data about the social, economic and environmental state of Moreland.
Data is collected at a small area level and for a range of demographic characteristics to assist in local area planning and issues identification.

Moreland population and household forecasts
Population and household forecasts for Moreland may be accessed via the links given below.
One set of forecasts is commissioned by Council, whereas the other is produced by the State government. The first set provides more fine-grained forecasts at the level of suburbs. Otherwise, differences between the resulting figures are essentially due to differences in the respective methodologies.
