Pensioner rate rebate

Tow older men outside standing in front of shopIf you hold a current Pensioner Concession Card, a DVA Gold Card TPI (Totally and Permanently Incapacitated) or a DVA Gold Card WW (War Widow), you may be eligible to receive a rebate on your rates for your principal place of residence.

If you have previously applied for the rebate, the amount will be automatically deducted from your rates notice.

The eligible maximum rebate has been increased from $187.60 to $193.40 for the 2011-2012 rating year. There is no need to reapply if your circumstances have not altered.

If you are eligible, and have not received the rebate, you must complete an Application for Concession on Municipal Rates and Charges Application Form (PDF 575Kb). Application forms are also available from Council's Citizen Service Centres.

You must show your appropriate pensioner concession card as proof of eligibility when completing your application.

Council also does an online verification with Centrelink to confirm your eligibility or ineligibility for the rebate.

If you are no longer eligible to receive the rebate, you should tell Council immediately.

Please note that holders of a Health Care Card are not eligible for the rate rebate.
