New Victorian road rules: from 9 November
From 9 November 2009, the State Government will introduce new road safety rules for Victoria.
These changes aim to improve road safety and make road rules consistent across Australia.
New road rules
The VicRoads website has detailed information about the new Victorian road rules:
- mobile phones and visual display units
- child restraints
- u-turns and overtaking
- seatbelts
- motorcyclists
- cyclists
- wheeled recreational devices such as scooters, skateboards and roller blades
- drivers
- sharing the road with trams and
- parking.
