About Harmony Day
The Premier John Brumby has invited all Victorians to join him on the Walk for Harmony on Sunday, 12 July 2009 to reaffirm to the world Victoria's strong support for multiculturalism.
The Walk will bring together Victorian communities to recognise and celebrate the enormous contribution of ethnic, cultural and religious communities to the state.
"Now is the time to highlight to a national and international audience that our commitment to multiculturalism is stronger than ever and that the Victorian community values the contributions that people from around the world have made to our state," Mr Brumby said.
The Harmony Walk starts at Carlton Gardens at 1 pm on Sunday 12 July and proceed through Melbourne's central business district to Federation Square.
