Changes to local road clearway times
In April 2008, the Premier announced the standardisation and extension of clearway times on approximately 80 declared arterial roads, to help decrease traffic congestion.
This decision is part of the VicRoads project to 'keep Melbourne moving' and effects areas within a 10 km radius of the city.
Part of this VicRoads project is to standardise the existing morning and evening peak clearways around Melbourne to operate from 6.30 am to 10 am, and 3 pm to 7 pm.
VicRoads will start replacing existing clearway signs with new clearway signs and times of operation from 6 July 2009.
VicRoads letters to residents and schools
VicRoads has sent letters about the changes to all effected residents and schools in Moreland.
Roads in Moreland with new clearway times from 6 July 2009
The new clearway times may differ for each side of the road.
- Nicholson Street from Moreland Road to Bell Street
- Holmes Street from Albion Street to Moreland Road
- Sydney Road from Bakers Road to Brunswick Road, and
- Melville Road from Irvine Creek to Dawson Street (from 29 June 2009).
