Disability Action Plan consultation
Disability Policy and Action Plan
Moreland City Council is creating a plan to improve conditions for people with a disability.
Almost 19% of people living in Moreland say that they have a disability of some kind.
The purpose of the plan is to:
Remove barriers faced by people with a disability
This can include barriers in different areas such as accessing the physical environment, gaining employment or accessing suitable services.
Increase opportunities for people to participate in their community
This includes not just removing barriers but also creating opportunities for people to contribute their skills and use their abilities.
There are many people with a disability who do not live in Moreland, but come to work, study or access services in Moreland. Council wants to improve conditions for these people also.
Have your say on Council's Disability Action Plan
To create the Plan, Council needs to hear from people about what should be improved.
Council also wants to know if there are good things happening in Moreland that need to be increased, or if there are good things happening elsewhere that could be developed in Moreland.
