Interview with Cr Erdogan
Why did you run for Council?
My main motivation for running for Council was that I feel local government is a good way for me to take an active role in my local community and make a positive contribution.
What do you see as the top five issues facing Council over the next four years?
- Securing the financial viability of the Council into the future.
- Managing the growth in population and the strain that this may cause our infrastructure.
- Ensuring we preserve our open spaces and provide an upgrade of our local sporting facilities.
- Health and ageing.
- Remaining relevant and responsive to the community.
Name three things you want this Council to achieve in the next four years?
- Provide basic services such as roads and footpaths to our residents more effectively.
- Provide a youth space for young people, and deliver facilities’ that are relevant to young people such as a skate parks and sporting fields etc.
- I would like to see the Council take a more active role in community activism and be a pioneer of social justice causes.
